How does a static mixer work?
A static mixer is a run of pipe with fixed mixing elements inside. As fluid flows through, the elements split, rotate and recombine the stream, so two or more fluids blend fully within a short distance using only the energy of the flow.
Because there are no moving parts, static mixers need no power, have little to wear out and take up less space than a mixing tank. Komax designs are available in alloy and non metallic materials for liquid, steam and desuperheating service.

Do static mixers need maintenance?
Very little. With no moving parts there is nothing to lubricate or replace in normal service, though elements can be inspected or cleaned if the fluid fouls.
