Why do AODD pumps need a pulsation dampener?
An air operated double diaphragm pump moves liquid in pulses as each diaphragm strokes, which creates pressure spikes and uneven flow downstream. A pulsation dampener on the discharge absorbs those spikes, smoothing flow and reducing vibration and stress on piping, valves, meters and fittings.
What are the AODDampener features?
The AODDampener is a single, standardized configuration designed to suit most AODD applications. Keeping to one design means it is stocked and shipped off the shelf, rather than built to order, so you can solve a pulsation problem quickly.
- Pressure rating of 150 psi
- 316L stainless steel housing
- PTFE backed diaphragm
- Fits 1.0, 1.5 and 2.0 inch AODD pumps
- Compact footprint
- Standardized for off the shelf shipment
Is the AODDampener right for my application?
It fits most AODD pumps in the 1 to 2 inch range running at or below 150 psi, where a 316L stainless steel body and PTFE backed diaphragm are compatible with the liquid. For larger pumps, higher pressures or other materials, a different dampener may be a better fit.
